SBI PO Prelims 2026 Results Declared

The State Bank of India (SBI) has declared the Probationary Officer (PO) Preliminary Examination 2026 results for recruitment to 1,500 posts. Candidates who qualified in the preliminary examination have been shortlisted for the next stage — the SBI PO Main Examination.

The SBI PO Prelims examination was conducted on August 1 and 2, 2026. The result has been released in roll-number-wise format on the official SBI website.

SBI PO Mains Exam On September 12

The Main Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 12, 2026. Candidates who have cleared Prelims should now focus on the Mains syllabus, which carries significantly greater weight in the final selection.

The Mains will include an objective test carrying 200 marks and a descriptive test of 50 marks. The objective examination will cover Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Awareness/Economy/Banking Knowledge, and English Language.

The descriptive paper will be conducted immediately after the objective test and will assess candidates through tasks such as email writing, report writing, situation analysis and précis writing.

Prelims Marks Not Included In Final Merit

Candidates should note that Prelims marks will not be added to the final merit list. Final selection will be based on performance in the Main Examination and Phase III, which includes a psychometric test, group exercise and personal interview.

For the final merit calculation, the Main Examination is converted to 75 marks, while the Group Exercise and Interview together account for 25 marks, making the final score out of 100.

Candidates who have qualified for Mains are advised to intensify preparation in banking and economic awareness, reasoning, data interpretation, computer aptitude and descriptive writing ahead of the examination.
