The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced changes to the seat matrix and reservation categories for candidates seeking admission to the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, through CLAT 2027. The revised reservation structure will apply to both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes.
Under the revised system, the OBC-A and OBC-B categories for West Bengal domicile candidates have been removed from the WBNUJS seat matrix. In their place, a single OBC category for West Bengal has been introduced. Candidates who had previously selected OBC-A or OBC-B while filling out their CLAT 2027 application have been advised to check the revised eligibility criteria and seat matrix.
Candidates Must Update Applications by October 31
Eligible candidates who need to change their reservation category can modify their details through the CLAT 2027 application portal until October 31, 2026. The Consortium has advised applicants to carefully review the revised WBNUJS brochure and ensure that the reservation information entered in their application is accurate and supported by the required documents.
To make the change, candidates need to log in to their CLAT account and select the ‘Edit Application Form’ option. They should then open the ‘Reservations’ section, select WBNUJS, confirm their West Bengal domicile status and choose the applicable reservation category before saving or submitting the updated information.
The CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled for December 6, 2026, while the application process will remain open until October 31. Candidates affected by the reservation changes are advised not to wait until the deadline and should verify their category well in advance to avoid issues during the admission process.
