The AIIMS Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-5) re-examination was disrupted by technical problems at the same iON Digital Zone centre in Sitapura, Jaipur, which had faced glitches during the NEET-PG 2026 exam a day earlier.
The AIIMS recruitment exam, scheduled from 9 am to noon, began around 30 minutes late after a server failure. The system reportedly malfunctioned again shortly after the exam began, followed by power outages that further disrupted the test.
Frustrated candidates walked out of the centre and staged a protest, demanding a fair opportunity to take the examination. AIIMS subsequently cancelled the examination at the affected centre and announced that it would be conducted again.
The incident occurred just a day after NEET-PG 2026 candidates at the same Jaipur facility faced server and power-related disruptions. NBEMS has already announced a separate NEET-PG re-examination for affected candidates on September 5.
According to reports, AIIMS has now scheduled the CRE-5 re-examination for September 7, 2026, with revised admit cards to be issued to eligible candidates.
The repeated technical failures at the same examination centre have raised concerns about exam infrastructure, reliability and arrangements for high-stakes computer-based examinations.
