The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submission of online applications for the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, offering candidates additional time to complete the registration process. Aspirants can now apply until May 23, 2026, up to 10:00 a.m., according to an official notification issued by the agency.
The deadline for payment of examination fees through online modes, including credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI, has also been extended to May 23, 2026, till 11:50 p.m. Candidates will be able to make corrections to their submitted application forms between May 25 and May 27, 2026, through the official UGC-NET portal.
The examination is conducted for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes in Indian universities. The NTA advised candidates facing difficulties during registration to contact the agency through its helpline or official email for assistance. The agency also urged applicants to regularly visit the official websites for updates regarding the examination process.
