The Punjab government has announced free travel in Punjab Roadways buses for students appearing in the NEET UG re-examination, scheduled for June 21, as part of a student welfare measure aimed at easing financial burdens on aspirants. The facility will be available from June 20 to June 22, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said. Under the initiative, NEET aspirants will be allowed to travel free of cost on all Punjab Roadways buses by simply showing their NEET admit cards, which will be treated as valid travel tickets during the period. Mann said the decision was taken after students raised concerns about travel expenses, particularly those from economically weaker families. The announcement follows feedback shared with AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, who had recently interacted with students regarding difficulties faced after the NEET UG 2026 exam was cancelled and rescheduled. The re-examination is slated to be conducted on June 21 by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
