The scholarship programme is open to students across multiple educational levels, ranging from Class 9 and Class 10 to undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional courses. Depending on the category and programme of study, selected candidates can receive financial assistance of up to ₹15 lakh per year, making it one of the country’s most significant scholarship initiatives.

According to the SBI Foundation, the programme is designed to ensure that talented students do not have to discontinue their education due to financial constraints. The scholarship covers various streams of education and aims to encourage academic excellence while supporting students in achieving their educational and career goals.

The scholarship is available under different categories, including:

  • School students (Class 9–12)
  • Undergraduate students
  • Postgraduate students
  • Students enrolled in premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, and other leading universities
  • Students pursuing higher education abroad, subject to the specific eligibility criteria of each scholarship category.

Applicants must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed for their respective categories, including academic performance, family income limits, and course requirements. Candidates are advised to carefully review the detailed eligibility criteria, required documents, and application guidelines before submitting their applications.
