The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule for Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2026. The registration, fee payment and choice-filling process for All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed and Central Universities will begin on September 3, 2026.
Candidates can complete registration and payment from September 3 to 8, while the choice-filling window will remain open from September 3 to 9. Choice locking will be available from 4 pm on September 8 until 10 am on September 9.
The Round 2 seat allotment process will be conducted on September 9 and 10, with the seat allotment result scheduled for September 11, 2026. Candidates allotted seats will have to complete reporting and joining formalities between September 12 and 18.
For state counselling, the Round 2 process will run separately from September 7 to 11. The final verification of candidates who join allotted institutions will be conducted on September 19 by the respective authorities.
Candidates who did not receive a seat in Round 1 can participate in Round 2 according to MCC eligibility rules. Those who were allotted a Round 1 seat and selected the “Float” option can also participate for an upgrade. Candidates who chose “Freeze” will retain their existing seat and will not be considered for upgradation.
Under the revised counselling system, candidates who opted for Float do not need to physically report to their Round 1 allotted college for document verification; the institute will verify their documents online.
Candidates are advised to carefully check the official MCC counselling portal and complete each stage within the prescribed deadlines to avoid losing their opportunity for Round 2 admission.
