The Bihar Government has directed all state universities to clear the backlog of pending degree certificates in mission mode and submit a detailed status report by July 1, 2026.
The Higher Education Department has instructed universities to expedite the issuance of pending undergraduate and postgraduate degree certificates, ensuring that students do not face delays in pursuing higher education, employment, or competitive examinations.
Officials have asked universities to identify the reasons behind the backlog and take immediate corrective measures to complete the process within the stipulated timeline. Institutions have also been directed to closely monitor progress and report their status to the state government.
The move comes in response to concerns raised by students who have experienced difficulties in securing admissions, applying for jobs, and completing verification processes due to delays in receiving their degree certificates.
The Bihar Government stated that clearing the backlog is a top priority and is part of its broader effort to improve the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of higher education institutions across the state.
Students have welcomed the initiative, hoping it will ensure the timely issuance of degrees and streamline university administrative processes.
