IIM Ahmedabad has launched the India Pharma Archives, a digital platform preserving more than 125 years of India’s pharmaceutical industry journey.
Developed by the IIMA Archives in collaboration with the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), the initiative brings together nearly 1,000 historical resources, including company histories, archival collections, photographs, films, interviews and timelines.
The archive is designed as a living and continuously evolving digital resource, allowing students, researchers, policymakers, historians and industry professionals to explore the development of India’s pharmaceutical sector.
The initiative aims not only to preserve the industry’s institutional memory but also to highlight the science, entrepreneurship, innovation and global impact that have shaped India’s rise as a major pharmaceutical hub.
