Several states across India, including Maharashtra and Delhi-NCR, have extended summer vacations and revised school timings as intense heatwave conditions continue to affect normal life.
According to reports, education departments in multiple states have taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students amid rising temperatures. In many regions, schools have either extended their summer breaks or shifted class timings to early morning hours to avoid peak heat periods.
In Maharashtra, authorities have announced changes in school schedules in several districts, while in Delhi-NCR, schools have also adjusted timings and extended holidays for certain classes depending on weather conditions.
Similar decisions have been implemented in other heat-affected states, where extreme temperatures have raised concerns about student health and well-being. Officials have advised schools to follow heat safety guidelines and ensure adequate hydration and ventilation for students when classes are conducted.
The changes are temporary and will remain in effect until weather conditions improve.
