The Himachal Pradesh government is planning to introduce a distinct identity for its state-run CBSE schools through a common uniform, teacher dress code and a separate colour scheme for school buildings. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Education Department to finalise the arrangements at the earliest.
According to the government, the dress code for teachers in CBSE schools will be implemented from October 1. Officials are also working on finalising a common logo for CBSE schools operated by the state government. A distinct colour scheme for the school buildings is also being planned to give these institutions a uniform identity.
The Chief Minister said the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen quality education in rural areas through government-run CBSE schools. These institutions are intended to provide students with access to CBSE-based education at affordable costs, particularly in areas where private CBSE schooling can be comparatively expensive.
The government has also decided to introduce attendance monitoring three times a day in these schools to promote discipline and punctuality. Sukhu said teachers have already been appointed, while vacancies arising in the future will be filled on priority so that students’ studies are not affected due to staff shortages.
