BPSC TRE 4.0 Teacher Applications Postponed Again

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the online application process for Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0, which was scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026. The commission cited procedural/administrative changes and said revised dates will be announced soon.

The recruitment drive under Advertisement No. 14/2026 was initially announced for 32,388 school teacher vacancies covering Classes 1 to 12. The posts include 3,847 primary teachers, 8,563 middle-school teachers, 3,877 secondary teachers and 16,101 senior-secondary teachers.

The postponement comes amid protests by teacher aspirants, who had raised concerns over the examination pattern, negative marking and other recruitment-related issues. Following discussions with candidates, the Bihar government agreed to conduct TRE 4.0 in a single phase.

Reports also indicate that the government has proposed an increase in vacancies for music teachers, which could take the overall number of TRE 4.0 vacancies to 33,385. Revised vacancy details are expected to be incorporated into the recruitment notification.

Candidates are advised not to rely on the earlier September 1 application date and to wait for the BPSC’s revised notification. The commission will announce the new registration schedule through its official channels.
