The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, the organising institute for JEE Advanced 2026, is expected to announce the official category-wise cut-off marks after the declaration of results. The cut-off will determine candidates’ eligibility for admission to various IITs through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. The JEE Advanced cut-off represents the minimum marks required for candidates to qualify for inclusion in the Common Rank List (CRL). Separate qualifying marks are expected for different categories, including General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Subject-wise qualifying scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, along with aggregate marks, will play a key role in determining eligibility. According to previous trends, the cut-off is likely to vary depending on factors such as the exam’s difficulty level, number of candidates appearing, and overall performance. Experts noted that the 2026 examination, particularly Mathematics and Physics, was comparatively challenging, which may influence the final cut-off marks this year. IIT Roorkee conducted the JEE Advanced 2026 examination on May 17, and candidates are now awaiting response sheets, provisional answer keys, and final results. The official cut-off and opening-closing ranks for admissions will be published on the JEE Advanced website following the result declaration.
