NCST Invites Applications for Internship Programme 2026

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has opened applications for its Internship Programme 2026, offering students and graduates an opportunity to gain practical exposure to research, policy analysis, and the functioning of the Commission. Interested candidates can apply online through the NCST Grievance Redressal and Management System (NCSTGRAMS) portal.

According to the Commission, the application process is currently underway and will remain open until June 18, 2026, at 5 PM. Around 10 interns will be selected in each intake and may be assigned to the Commission’s Headquarters in New Delhi or its Regional Offices, depending on administrative requirements.

Selected interns who successfully complete the one-month programme and maintain at least 90 percent attendance will receive a stipend of ₹15,000. The initiative aims to encourage academic engagement and provide students with hands-on experience in matters related to tribal welfare, constitutional safeguards, and public policy.

To be eligible, applicants must have secured a minimum of 60 percent marks or an equivalent grade in their previous qualifying examination. Students in the second year of graduation as well as graduates are eligible to apply, while the Commission may relax eligibility criteria in exceptional cases.

Applicants are required to submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and, where applicable, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their educational institution. Applications will be assessed on the basis of academic performance, relevance of academic discipline, and the quality of the SOP. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal or online interview before the final selection is made by the Selection Committee.

The NCST Internship Programme is designed to provide young scholars with valuable insights into tribal affairs, governance, and policy implementation while contributing to research and developmental initiatives undertaken by the Commission.
