The Kerala School Kalolsavam 2027 will return to Ernakulam after a gap of 20 years, bringing thousands of young performers together for one of the country’s largest school arts festivals. The five-day event will be held from January 4 to 8, 2027, with around 14,000 students expected to participate.
The festival will feature 249 events across 28 venues, with Marine Drive serving as the main venue and 27 other locations functioning as sub-venues. School sub-district and district-level competitions leading up to the state festival are scheduled to be completed by November 30.
Students securing A, B and C grades will receive 20, 15 and 10 grace marks, respectively. According to Kerala General Education Minister N. Samsudheen, the initiative is intended to encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities and develop their artistic talents.
The minister also highlighted the festival’s role in preserving traditional art forms and supporting students’ creative and overall development. An organising committee has been formed to oversee preparations for the event.
