The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has invited applications for its Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship programme, offering PhD holders an opportunity to continue advanced research at the institute.
Candidates must have completed their PhD within the last five years and should be below 32 years of age at the time of joining. SC, ST and women candidates will receive a five-year age relaxation, while OBC-NCL candidates will get a three-year relaxation.
Applicants must also have at least two Q1 journal papers in which they are listed as the primary contributor. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis may also apply, subject to submitting their provisional degree certificate within six months of joining.
To apply, candidates must first identify an IIT Madras faculty member working in their research area, discuss their research proposal and obtain the faculty member’s consent. Shortlisted applicants will undergo departmental evaluation, a research seminar and an institute-level selection process.
The fellowship has a minimum tenure of two years. It is initially offered for one year and may be extended by up to two additional years based on performance.
