Harvard University is set to offer executive education programmes in Hyderabad from December 2026, according to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation representing UK universities and business schools at the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad.
The initiative is part of the Telangana government’s broader plan to develop the state as a global knowledge hub and expand international collaborations in education, skills, research and industry. The proposed Harvard programmes are expected to provide opportunities for professional and executive-level learning, although detailed information on the specific courses has not yet been announced.
The announcement comes amid Telangana’s efforts to attract leading international educational institutions to Hyderabad. The state is also exploring potential collaborations involving institutions such as MIT, Purdue University, the University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University. Areas under discussion include executive education, dual-degree programmes, faculty development and research collaboration.
The Telangana government is simultaneously developing an Education Hub in Bharat Future City and the Young India Skills University, with the stated objective of aligning education and skills training with changing industry requirements. The government has also been seeking greater collaboration between international universities, local institutions, industries and research organisations.
The Harvard initiative follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s participation earlier this year in a six-day leadership programme at Harvard Kennedy School. He has also invited representatives from the UK education sector to participate in the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026, scheduled for December.
Important: The announcement concerns executive education programmes, not the opening of a full Harvard degree-granting campus in Hyderabad. Details regarding course structure, eligibility, fees, admission procedure and participating programmes are yet to be officially released.
