Ministry of Education Observed World Environment Day 2026 Through Green Summer Camps
The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, observed World Environment Day 2026 by organising Green Summer Camps under the aegis of Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE from June 5 to June 30, 2026.
Schools across the country were encouraged to conduct activities based on the seven themes of Mission LiFE, including healthy lifestyles, sustainable food systems, reduction of e-waste and plastic waste, energy conservation, water conservation, and responsible waste management.
Aligned with the vision of NEP 2020, the initiative promoted environmental awareness and experiential learning among students by encouraging a deeper connection with nature. Schools were also directed to upload details of the activities undertaken on the dedicated Eco Clubs portal.
