The University of Delhi (DU) has announced its Financial Support Scheme (FSS) for the 2026–27 academic session, aimed at providing fee assistance to eligible students from families with limited annual incomes. The scheme is being implemented through the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW).
Under the scheme, eligible full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in DU departments, institutes and centres can receive financial assistance based on their family income.
Students with an annual family income of up to ₹4 lakh can receive a 100% fee waiver, subject to the actual fee or a maximum of ₹15,000, whichever is lower. Students with an annual family income between ₹4 lakh and ₹8 lakh are eligible for a 50% fee waiver, capped at ₹10,000.
The last date to submit the online application is October 13, 2026. Students can apply through the DU or DSW website. The university said the schedule for submitting printed application forms and supporting documents will be announced separately.
Applicants will need documents including an EWS/OBC-NCL certificate or family income certificate for 2025–26, relevant income-tax returns and PAN cards, a bonafide certificate, the latest marksheet and fee receipt, and a bank passbook or cancelled cheque showing the student’s own account details. Income certificates issued in the student’s name or signed by a notary will not be accepted.
The scheme does not cover students enrolled in constituent colleges, BTech programmes other than CIC, five-year integrated law programmes, the School of Open Learning (SOL), or NCWEB. Students with an Essential Repeat (ER) in a previous examination are also excluded.
Eligible students seeking financial assistance are advised to complete the online application before the deadline and keep the required documents ready for the subsequent verification process.
