The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the application deadline for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 by six days. Candidates can now complete their registration, fee payment and online application submission until September 7, 2026.
The deadline was earlier set for September 1. The extension comes after several candidates reported technical problems with the UPSSSC website and One-Time Registration (OTR) system, particularly difficulties receiving OTPs required for verification.
Candidates who have already submitted their applications will continue to have time to make permitted corrections and complete fee-adjustment formalities until September 8, 2026. The commission has clarified that there is no change in the application process, fee structure, eligibility criteria or other conditions.
For PET 2026, candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination and generally be between 18 and 40 years of age, with applicable relaxations for eligible categories. The examination serves as a qualifying test for recruitment to various Group C posts under UPSSSC.
Candidates who have not yet completed their applications are advised to use the extended window and avoid waiting until the final day because of possible technical or payment-related issues.
