Jammu & Kashmir Introduces Framework to Review Books in Educational Institutions
The Jammu & Kashmir Government has introduced a new framework for the evaluation of books and academic materials used in schools, colleges, and universities across the Union Territory.
The framework establishes a structured mechanism for academic evaluation, content verification, and periodic review of books and educational resources to ensure they meet standards of academic quality, factual accuracy, pedagogical relevance, and legal compliance.
The initiative comes in response to recent concerns regarding books available in institutional libraries and the procurement of educational materials. The School Education Department and Higher Education Department have issued comprehensive guidelines directing institutions to conduct regular audits and scrutiny of academic resources.
The government said the move is aimed at strengthening the quality and credibility of educational content while ensuring students have access to reliable and academically sound learning materials.
