Delhi Declares July as POCSO Awareness Month in Schools
The Delhi Government has launched a city-wide POCSO Awareness Campaign to strengthen child safety in schools across the national capital.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that July will be observed as ‘POCSO Awareness Month’, during which all government and private schools will organise awareness programmes to educate students about child protection, personal safety, and their rights under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
As part of the initiative, child safety protocols have been made mandatory in schools to ensure a safer learning environment. The campaign aims to promote awareness, prevention, and timely reporting of child abuse while reinforcing the responsibility of schools to protect every child.
The Delhi government stated that the initiative is a comprehensive effort to strengthen child safety and well-being, making schools more secure and child-friendly.
