National Zoological Park Invites Applications for Internship Programme 2026
The National Zoological Park (NZP), Delhi, has opened applications for its Fall Internship Session (July–September 2026), offering students an opportunity to gain practical experience in wildlife conservation, zoo management, and environmental research.
The internship programme is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized institutions in India and abroad. Graduates who have already completed their degree are also eligible to apply.
During the internship, participants will engage in research and conservation-related activities, including animal behaviour studies, biodiversity assessments, visitor awareness surveys, waste management research, ecosystem valuation, and animal enrichment projects.
Eligibility
- Students pursuing graduation or post-graduation from recognized institutions.
- Graduates are also eligible to apply.
- Applicants undertaking the internship as part of an academic course must submit a recommendation letter from their college or university.
Application Process
Interested candidates can download the application form from the official NZP website and submit it along with a valid photo ID. Applications may be sent via email or registered post to the National Zoological Park, New Delhi. Foreign applicants must additionally provide a valid visa, passport, and medical insurance.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee based on merit. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for document verification and counselling. A maximum of 10 interns will be selected for each session. Selected candidates will be informed within 30 days of application submission.
Internship Duration and Benefits
The internship duration ranges from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of three months. While the programme does not offer any stipend, academic credit, or accommodation, interns who successfully complete the programme will receive a certificate and logistical support based on availability.
