The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has commenced the admission process for its Master’s (MA) and Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) programmes for the academic session 2026-27. Eligible candidates can apply through the official admission portal at IIMC’s counselling website.
According to the institute, admissions to six MA programmes and four PG Diploma courses will be conducted through the online counselling process. Registration and choice filling for counselling have already begun and candidates are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated timeline.
For MA programmes, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 55 per cent marks. Graduates from any discipline are eligible to apply for PG Diploma courses, while final-year undergraduate students may also apply provisionally, subject to meeting eligibility requirements before admission.
Admissions to MA programmes will be based on CUET-PG scores along with other prescribed criteria. Most PG Diploma programmes will also consider CUET-PG scores, while certain regional language journalism courses continue to have separate admission procedures.
The institute has prescribed age criteria for PG Diploma programmes. General category candidates should not be older than 25 years as of August 1, 2026, while relaxation in the upper age limit has been provided for OBC, SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. There is no age limit for admission to MA programmes.
Candidates allotted seats during counselling will be required to pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee and complete document verification within the specified schedule. Officials have advised applicants to carefully review the admission prospectus and programme preferences before submitting their applications.
